And while I've been using the WinCatalog command line in combination with Windows Task Scehduler to update the disks automatically, that only happens once per day so, at any given time, any one of my disks could be at least 23 hours and 59 minutes out of date. With that technology, the index was kept up to date without manual intervention. That was a feature of Edge Rover that I really, really liked: It utilitized a 'rover' program that constantly scanned the disks looking for new files and updating ones that had been changed. The only thing that I feel it's missing is a program that starts up with the computer that automatically updates the database in real time. ![]() It's feature rich, easy to use and and it keeps an comprehensive index of my disk's contents with speed and accuracy.
